The Certified Nursing Assistant programs offers higher income to those who do not have any other skills. The only downside to the Certified Nursing Assistant salary is that it is one of the lowest paid health professions.
Certified Nursing Assistants may make more money than someone just graduating from college, but they still do not make that much. The average income for a Certified Nursing Assistant is around $9.00 to $12.00 per hour. A Certified Nursing Assistant working in a nursing home would make a bit less than a Certified Nursing Assistant working in a hospital or emergency room. The federal government pays Certified Nursing Assistants the most, earning between $20,000 and $35,000.
The Certified Nursing Assistant salary will be different in various locations. It will also be different based on experience. For someone who has had more than ten years of experience, they can expect to make between $19,000 and $35,000. Someone just starting out may very well make less than $19,000. Most Certified Nursing Assistants work multiple jobs and are able to do so by working at different types of facilities, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies.
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are one of the lowest paid health professionals, however, they also receive the least amount of education. The more skills that one has under the belt, the higher they will be paid. While this may be one of the lower paying health occupations, it allows the employee to gain experience and expertise in the health care field. This occupation may encourage many people to move into a higher skilled field, such as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner.
The Certified Nursing Assistant’s salary can increase by advancing their level of skills. They could become an Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant and gain more skills, as well as make more money. The Certified Nursing Assistant can also receive additional training in order to become a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or even a certified registered nurse anesthetist. The Certified Nursing Assistant’s salary is very low when compared to these other occupations.
